Summer Camp


LOCATION The WIllowemoc Forest is located  in the southwest corner of Catskill Park, 2.5 hours north of NYC.

PRICING Limited to 12 campers. The cost for all meals, housing & excursions is  $1050.

Our focus will be embracing the inherent wisdom of each child and cultivating his or her awareness of the vast teachings the natural world. They will lead the way as we read and follow the highly renowned Coyotes Guide to Connecting to Nature. We will explore creeks, trails, and waterfalls and learn survivalist skills like shelter construction, water purification and fire building. Kids will be guided through the wonders of nature by an experienced naturalist, Patty Kaishan.

We will enjoy daily activities like fishing, hiking, skate boarding, swimming, river tubing, canoeing, reflective art making, cooking and food preparation. Excursions will include the fly fishing museum, local waterfalls and zip lining. We will also spend a day at Holiday Mountain which includes Go-Karts, 18 hole Mini-Golf, Bumper Cars & a climbing wall!

Cost includes accommodations, 3 daily meals, and all excursions. Located in the Catskills, an easy trip from NYC. Led by three experienced adult educators and limited to a small group, so register now to save a spot.

AVA GERBER: An experienced teacher in New York City, Ava has an MFA in art  and is a yoga teacher and shamanic healer. She ran the highly acclaimed Lucky Kids After School Program in Brooklyn.

KATE TEMPLE-WEST: Through her teaching and clinical herbal practice, Kate Temple-West has helped hundreds of people get over heartbreak, nurture their bodies and spirits, and find grounded freedom through the help of the medicine plants.  For the past 8 years Kate has run herbal workshops and wild-crafting classes in Prospect, Central, and Inwoood Parks, at universities such as Pitzer College in California, Hunter College and NYU, P.S. 20 in NYC, Brooklyn’s Observatory, private yoga studios, and in community gardens.  She’s the director of the Children’s Magical Garden, an NYC non-profit and community garden dedicated to putting city children in touch with nature.
